Picnic Point is a green space every UW-Madison student should explore at least once during their time on campus. It is an iconic location that provides stunning views of Lake Mendota and Madison, such as the Wisconsin State Capitol. Stretching for nearly a mile along Lake Mendota, the peninsula is a notable feature of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Picnic Point is one of Madison’s many green spaces where you can get some fresh air and enjoy nature without leaving campus. Not only can you get to Picnic Point by walking along the Lakeshore Path, but there is also a parking lot at University Bay Drive.
